 Taking the cultivation of talents as a responsibility 

Since the establishment of the National Ilan University (NIU), more than 50,000 alumni have prospered in various industry sectors and contributed to the country. Every NIU student and alumni is not only a solid pillar of society who promotes social progress but also the most precious treasure of the alma mater. 

 Fulfilling social responsibility and driving industrial development 

When the Ministry of Education launched the "Vision Plan" to allow local or underprivileged students to study at nearby national universities and enhance the social function of national universities by taking the lead to reverse the hardships of economically disadvantaged students, NIU was not absent from this initiative. In the first year of the policy enactment, a total of 40 openings in 14 departments were available to recruit students according to the Vision Plan.

NIU has strong connections with local industries. More than 90 faculties have led more than 1,000 students to urban and rural areas to give back to the community using their professional skills. In addition, NIU established a counseling group for local creation, the Global Research & Industry Alliance (GLORIA Yilan), and the Taiwan One Health University Alliance to take full advantage of the impact of industrial clusters, continue to create a one-stop industry–university collaboration, and cultivate talents with practical skills.
 

 Transformation, continuous growth, and sustainable development 

NIU is about to celebrate its 100^th anniversary. In its nearly century-old history, NIU has undergone the restructuring stages of vocational school, junior college, and technical college. The process allowed NIU to build a solid foundation for teaching and research, gain momentum from changing with the times and industrial development, and successfully transform into an institution for future generations. NIU expects to continue working with its alumni to carry out the century-old mission, grow steadily, and achieve sustainable development for school affairs.
